About Sleek Running

At Sleek Running we have one clear, specific goal – to keep you healthy. Everything we do is based around that principle. That means when we give you training advice, it’s going to revolve around keeping you healthy first, and performance second. As a result, we talk a lot about the best way to stay healthy – preventing injuries.

We believe that you shouldn’t have to worry about getting injured when you run. It’s just a matter of learning how.

My name is Brett. I’ve been a runner my entire life. I have run both competitively and for recreation. Over and over again, I’ve watched myself, friends, and family get bitten by the injury bug. But, there is little I can do to help others not make the same mistakes that I have made. With Sleek Running, I hope to take my advice to a larger platform. I’ve spent years refining my approach to running – researching, learning, and implementing. Now, I can take my knowledge and experience and pass it on to you. I want to help you – to help anyone who is willing to learn proper running form. By learning proper running form you can prevent those nagging injuries. You can say goodbye to foot pain, knee pain, and sore feet. You can run farther, faster, and without the worry that you’re one misstep away from being sidelined. When you’re running like the human body was designed to run, you’ll enter a state of flow – and feel unstoppable.

About Brett

Here are some questions you might have for me.

Why focus on injuries?

There are many websites, blogs, and magazines that focus on training. The majority of them have really good information and plans for you to use. And while Sleek Running will dive into training in a generalized way, it will be mainly to teach correct form with the intention of preventing injuries. My goal is to keep you healthy so you can become a runner for life.

How fast are you?

These are my personal bests for various distances that I have raced.

1 Mile PR: 4 minutes 41 seconds

5K PR: 17 minutes 06 seconds

10K PR: 35 minutes 37 seconds

1/2 Marathon PR: 91 minutes 27 seconds

Most of these times are from my younger days, although the 1/2 marathon time is from 2011.

Are you a coach?

Not at this time. For now, this website is my contribution to the running community.

Will you train me?

I am not accepting training clients at this time. All of my advice can be found here!

What’s the farthest you’ve run in a week?

90 miles. (It was not worth it. Unless you’re a world class athlete, don’t bother.)

My coach told me that everyone has unique form. So why should I be concerned with “fixing” it?

Your coach is right. Everyone has a slightly different “perfect” form, based off their physical attributes. However, there are many common elements that help you find the form that suits you best. That’s what I am here to teach.

Why aren’t you responding to my email?

Be patient. I do my best to reply to every email I get.
